Alfalfa Leaf

Alfalfa is naturally high in many essential vitamins and minerals (A, D, E, K, the full family of B, calcium, magnesium, and potassium). The herb, Alfalfa, is also regarded as a hormone balancer. It contains constituents which bind to estrogen receptors in the body like a key in a lock. If the estrogen level is too low, estrogenic activity is increased by this 'key" activity. Alfalfa's estrogen-like "key", although similar to estrogen, is not as strong. If estrogen levels are too high, these same keys deny space for the excess estrogen thereby reducing estrogenic activity. Because of this activity, knowing when to block or allow, it is said to be hormone balancing.

Alfalfa is a diuretic, known to lower blood pressure, increase immune function, detoxifies blood and because of its high calcium and magnesium content, may soothe headaches and sore achy joints.
